UNSMOTEABLE. 2013
wonky. :(
Wonderful painting of Margot Tenenbaum given as a gift from my awesome friend Coleen. Check her art out on her Tumblr or Facebook, as well as in Team Girl Comic.
Nearly finished! Babydoll from Sucker Punch. A film I’ve never even seen, but it’s a present for one of my best friends who is pretty much in love with her.
You should all be reading the awesome Garry McLaughlin’s webcomic, Suddenly Something Really Interesting. (Look! Myself and Neil Slorance make a cameo in panel 8!) :D

I have some damn talented pals.
Taxidermy Tales : Created By Clive/The Museum Curator is a double sided comic by Adam Smith (Khaki Shorts) and Gill Hatcher (Team Girl Comic). “Created by Clive” is a creepy, psychedelic story set in a 60’s fashion boutique. “The Museum Curator” is an eerie tale about a girl searching for her runaway cat through the Arctic Room in Glasgow’s Kelvingrove art gallery and museum. You can find Forbidden Planet’s review of it here and purchase it here.
The Very Last Plea From My Heart is a zine created by Birmingham based artist Olivia Sparrow to accompany her short film of the same name. A love letter to her favourite local building (the Birmingham Central Library), it features photography and writing dealing with the film, sexuality and Brutalism. As a limited editon of 25, with 28 pages for only £1 it’s not only unusual, beautiful in it’s harshness and interesting but incredibly good value for money. You can buy it here.
Nine Lines Of Metro by Glasgow artist Neil Slorance is an illustrated travelogue of his holiday to Barcelona in May 2012. An incredibly touching story in his distinctive illustrative style, it’s hard not to become immersed in Neil’s nostalgic tale, set during a well needed break during a rough time in his life. You can get one of the 100 made at his Etsy shop.
BlooMurder is the first zine created by Laura Bibby, an Australian florist currently living in Brighton. Detailing everything from bicycle recycling, her violent taste in art and even a mini review about some Lush products. It fits into the traditional, cut out and photocopied DIY zine style. Laura’s next project is a zine about her trip to Norway, which I can’t wait to read. You can buy Bloomurder here.
